All grades participate in physical activity programs for children from Kindergarten to Year 6, with a focus on fundamental movement skills and learning team sports and team work. This will take place during class and stage sport.
Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture.
Carnivals
Sporting carnivals, including swimming (Term 1), cross country (Term 2) and athletics (Term 3), are held annually. From these carnivals, teams are selected to compete in Zone, Regional and State Level Carnivals. Lansvale is a part of Lansdowne Zone and Sydney South West Region.
Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA)
There are opportunities to represent our school at inter-school sports competitions. As a NSW public school we benefit from the opportunities for shared activities and competitions with other schools, coordinated by school sport associations. Students chosen for PSSA teams will be required to pay a small fee each season for bus travel.
Season 1: Soccer, Touch Football and Netball
Season 2: Cricket, Oztag, Rugby League and Basketball.
Season 3: AFL, Softball and Tee-ball
Students from Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to trial for PSSA. There will be sports for junior students (8-10years) and senior students (11+)
