Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
Spelling Bee School Competition
On the 25th of June, our talented Stage 2 and 3 finalists showcased their exceptional spelling skills in Lansvale Public School’s Spelling Bee competition. This exciting event highlighted not only individual achievements but also the wonderful encouragement and support from classmates and families. After several challenging rounds, we are delighted to announce our Spelling Bee champions and runners-up. Stage 2 Champion was Tracy from 4T with Carson from 4W as runner-up, while Stage 3 Champion was Hudson from 6L and Ryan from 5M took runner-up. Our Stage Champions will proudly represent Lansvale Public School at the Premier’s Spelling Bee Regional Finals in Term 3. We congratulate all finalists on their fantastic efforts and wish our champions the best of luck in the next stage. A big thank you to Mrs Opacic and Mrs Tjam for organising this wonderful event.
New Arrivals Excursion to the Farm
On Monday 30th June, Mrs Thompson and Mrs Goulton took five of our New Arrival students to Calmsley City Farm for an exciting and educational day. The students enjoyed close encounters with a variety of animals including chicks, bunnies, koalas, goats, and sheep. They were captivated by engaging shows and hands-on activities such as tractor rides, cow milking, working dog demonstrations, and sheep shearing. This enriching experience will greatly support their learning in the upcoming Term 3 unit. We commend all students for their exceptional behaviour and extend our thanks to Mrs Thompson for organising such a memorable and valuable day.
Sydney South West Soccer Championships
On Monday 16th June, five girls from Lansvale Public School—Mikayla, Maddison, Kayla, Veta, and Chloe N—competed at the Sydney South West Girls Soccer Championships held at St Helen’s. Despite being smaller in size compared to their opponents, the girls played with incredible determination and resilience, fighting hard and keeping the games closely contested throughout the day. Then on Monday 30th June, three boys from Lansvale—Elijah, D'Shon, and Cristiano—represented the school at the Sydney South West Boys Soccer Championships. They showcased their great skills and composure on a highly competitive field filled with talented players, proving they belonged on the stage. We congratulate all players for their outstanding effort and sportsmanship in these challenging championships.
